Welcome 2012

So today is January 16th. 2012. It is a new year full of opportunities, this year I hope to complete my pre-requisits to apply for my program of study. Boo-boo ( My 17 year old son) will be graduating from South Mountain High School this year, which is pretty amazing, I am so proud of him. My nana Fidelia would have had her 85th birthday this year too, we miss her so much. Tia Pili is doing ok, other than the fact that she will have to undergo a bunch of tests to see if she may have celiac disease ( which basically means she will have to follow a gluten free diet for the rest of her life). She is not happy about that but I will try to help her as much as possible. I haven't posted much in a long time but I will try to keep posting more often. Mike and Andrew are doing good and so is Bianca, she is busy trying to land a job. My mama is doing good also we are doing our best to keep her out of the casino lol. I will start my classes tomorrow so wish me luck.

March 4th

Today was really busy at work and we will continue to be busy all week. I remember when we used to be this busy before the economy went crazy, I am feeling like we might be heading in the right direction again. Companies are having their conferences again and thats a good thing for everyone. I am doing good in my classes this semester so far, I am taking algebra 120, Medical Terminology and Intro to Healthcare, soon I will be able to sign up for my program in Medical Radiography. I can't wait! I haven't even started Anatomy or Biology and I am already amazed at what I am learning about the Human Body. Richard Jr. is getting ready to take the last of his aims tests for High School, one more year and he will graduate, I really hope he makes it so far so good. Mike and Andrew are doing great also, I have been helping them alot with their math and reading. I just bought a NOOK Reader from Barnes and Noble and they love it! And I love the fact that they are reading more.

Dec.30

I have come to realize we are starting a new year soon. A new year without my grandmother, the one who kept us all grounded and helped us keep our life in order. As we cleaned out her closet we realized how many new clothes she had that she never even touched! To her those were just things, plain and simple. We laughed at how many new night gowns she left behind and how she would always wear the same worn out night gowns to sleep in. She had tons of shoes that we are all walking around in now and she never once wore them. Again I say to HER those things were just that, THINGS, In this coming new year I pray to the lord that he may guide me and help me keep my life as simple as possible so that I too may value the true meaning of life and happiness. To her that meant always having an open door to her home for anyone who needed it or a plate of  food if they were hungry or listening to people if they needed to talk and telling them it will work out. My grandmother had a rough life, full of adversity, but she was never sour about it. It is what it is she would say, no use in crying over things, the lord knows what he is doing and why. I will strive to be as humble as she was, as loving as she was and as strong as she was.

Dec. 12th.

I have spent the last week studying for my math final, writing the last papers for english and communications. It's starting to wear on me but I am almost done. I hate the end of the semester, it seems like just when you are getting to know everyone in your classes, it is time to see them go. I had a class full of teenagers (16-17 years old) they are all part of the ACE program, it was cool having them in my class, I felt like their mommy at times. I am really going to miss them and I am really impressed by all that they have acheived so far in their youg lives. It makes me want to push harder. Now I cross my fingers for my math final!

December 8th.

Oh My! Finals coming up next week! I never in a million years thought I would be saying those words, strangely enough I am excited and happy that I am going through all of this. I think it is perfect timing too. If I would have had to do this when I was younger I would not appreciate school as much. Right now I know how hard teachers work and how they love doing what they do, therefore they have my full attention when they speak. Give them a big thank you at the end of the semester I'm sure they don't hea it enough! Thank you Lord for all of the people who have cared enough to help me through this journey!
